Remodeling Carpenter / Skilled Helper

Hands-on residential remodeling role for someone dependable, teachable and capable of growing into independent carpentry work.

Starting at $18/hrStarting pay is $18/hour. Higher starting pay is based on demonstrated experience and capability.

About the role

D.I.F.Y. Renovations works throughout the Oklahoma City metro on residential bathrooms, kitchens, flooring, trim, framing, tile and custom remodeling. This position works directly on active jobsites and inside occupied homes.

What you'll do

Show up ready to work and on time.
Protect client homes and keep a clean jobsite.
Assist with and independently complete remodeling tasks appropriate to your skill level.
Measure, cut, install and troubleshoot accurately.
Handle materials and tools responsibly.
Communicate clearly when you need direction or encounter a problem.

What we're looking for

Reliable transportation to changing jobsites around the Oklahoma City metro.
Working phone and dependable communication.
Basic hand tools expected as experience level increases.
Residential construction or remodeling experience preferred.
Professional conduct inside client homes.
Ability to follow plans, measurements and jobsite direction.

Independent Remodeling Carpenter / Trade Partner

Project-based opportunity for established remodeling carpenters who are independently equipped, insured and capable of owning defined scopes with minimal supervision.

Project-based compensationProject-based and negotiated by scope. Day-rate or time-and-material arrangements may be used when appropriate.

About the role

D.I.F.Y. Renovations is building relationships with experienced, independently equipped remodeling carpenters and trade professionals for residential projects throughout the Oklahoma City metro, Stillwater and surrounding areas. This is not an entry-level helper position or employee opening. Work may be awarded as individual scopes, portions of larger remodels, or ongoing project-based work based on experience, availability and project fit.

What you'll do

Receive a defined scope, drawings, specifications and expected finished result.
Plan and execute the proper means and methods for your assigned work.
Communicate material needs, schedule and progress clearly.
Protect client homes and maintain a clean professional jobsite.
Complete work to professional standards with minimal supervision.
Correct deficiencies in your own work and close out punch items.
Provide estimates or invoices as required for awarded scopes.

What we're looking for

Meaningful residential construction or remodeling experience.
Own the tools, equipment and reliable transportation necessary for your scopes.
Ability to read dimensions, drawings and written scopes.
Ability to independently lay out, execute and complete professional finished work.
Prepared to provide a W-9 and general liability certificate of insurance before starting awarded work.
Workers' compensation coverage or applicable exemption as required.
Professional communication and conduct in occupied homes.
Three professional references and examples of previous work.
